Why dog photography? Why did I decide to focus solely on dogs? I'll tell you why...

After years of trading as an equine photographer, I felt like my time was coming to an end with photography all together. Alongside my marriage breakdown, I lost my passion, all drive and my creativity just disappeared... I announced that I would be closing the business for good.

But why did I feel like that was the completely wrong choice? I kept asking myself, why am I throwing away years of hard work, all that money I had invested in equipment, coaching and so on. Surely there had to be another option, right?

Fast forward to 3 years later, my partner and I decided to introduce a dog into our family and along came Pablo - a super fast noodle dog with the most beautiful markings I had ever seen. It was love at first sight and we immediately decided that he was coming home with us.

I started to find myself reaching for the camera again and experimenting with Pablo for fun. No pressure, just me and my dog, with no expectations.

Over time, I found that my work was getting better and better, I started to create some of my best work in my opinion. It brought me so much joy to be able to capture these beautiful images of my dog, precious memories, frozen in time for me to forever hold on to. So, I decided to carry on with the dream of creating these memories for other dog owners - and so The Brindle Lens was born.

Inspired, by my Pablo. I will be forever grateful for him. He is the reason that I didn't give up on myself, or my dream.

Moral of the story, don't give up on your dreams. You never know the value of what you'd be throwing away. Keep going and makes a few adjustments if needed, but never give up.
